Marco Cappato, political activist engaged on the issue of sustainability with the pan-European citizens movement EUMANS, of which he is President - will be heard on Monday 8 November at 5.45 pm by the PETI Committee of the European Parliament, as promoter of the European Citizens' Initiative "StopGlobalWarming. Eu - A price on carbon to fight climate change”, formerly an European Citizens Initiative, now a petition proposing to set a minimum price for CO2 emissions, by taxing labor.

"Shifting taxes from work to CO2 emissions: this is the proposal that the G20 and COP26 have so far refused to consider. I will present it to the European Parliament on Monday on behalf of the 62,000 signatories of the initiative promoted by EUMANS. We will ask the European Union to promote an international agreement for global carbon pricing, an idea launched by 24 Nobel Laureates and supported, thanks to our initiative, by 100 Mayors from all over Europe and two former Presidents of the General Assembly of the UN.

The UN Secretary General himself declared: We need to switch from fossil fuels subsidies to renewables and to  tax pollution, not people. We must put a price on carbon. It is time to act. Where States have so far failed, we must act as citizens by activating every participation tool.
